The Story Behind the Crunch
Welcome to Margi’s Biscotti!
I believe that the best things in life shouldn’t be rushed. They should be crafted with care, shared with love, and savored one unhurried morning at a time. That is the exact philosophy baked into every single batch of biscotti that leaves my kitchen here in Pontiac, Illinois.
People often ask me where the name Margi’s Biscotti comes from. It belongs to my wonderful mom, Margaret. She was a constant source of warmth, love, and inspiration in my life, and naming this business after her is my way of keeping her sweet spirit alive. Every time I tie a ribbon on a box or watch a batch turn golden in the oven, I am honoring her legacy of love and hospitality.
My journey with baking has always been fueled by that exact desire: turning premium, wholesome ingredients into comforting treats that bring people together. For me, biscotti isn’t just a cookie—it’s an art form. It requires patience, precision, and a true dedication to the craft to achieve that flawless, golden, signature crunch that holds up perfectly to your morning cup of coffee or afternoon tea.
Small-Batch, Local, and Honest
When you order from Margi’s Biscotti, you aren’t buying mass-produced, factory-made treats that have been sitting on a warehouse shelf for weeks. You are getting authentic, home-baked delicacies made to order right here in Livingston County.
I meticulously build every flavor profile from scratch using my custom baking methods and hand-selected ingredients. Whether it’s the rich, premium dark and semi-sweet chocolates in our Mac Daddy, the vibrant trio of real fruits in Sunset and Vine, or the bold, zesty punch of real lemon juice baked straight into our Cherry Capri Crunch, I never take shortcuts on quality.
Rooted in Illinois
Operating under the Illinois Cottage Food Law allows me to do what I love most: bake with a personal touch and serve my community directly. While my kitchen may be small, my standards are exceptionally high. Every box is hand-packed, beautifully styled, and shipped straight from my home to yours, ensuring maximum freshness from the first bite to the very last crumb.
Thank you for welcoming me into your homes, your morning routines, and your holiday traditions. I am honored to bake for you in Margaret’s memory, and I hope my biscotti brings a sweet, bright moment of comfort to your day.
From my kitchen to yours,
-Joe
